What We Do

There are exciting things happening in education.

After years of struggling with the status quo, Washington students, particularly those residing in historically underserved communities, are gaining access to some of the most rigorous and high-achieving schools in the country. They are in a position to fulfill their potential.

The Washington State Charter Schools Association (WA Charters) is a nonprofit organization that advocates for and supports new and better schools. Our job is to educate the public, defend our charter public schools and grow the movement to bring high-quality education and parent choice to every underserved community in the state.

More specifically, we help new schools get off the ground. We help to connect students with the right learning environment. We help to develop local leaders, innovators and teachers. And we work with policy makers and elected officials to ensure charter public schools are protected and meet the highest standards.

Early Results

With a majority of students from underserved communities, many of whom have struggled in school, Washington’s charter public schools have already had a measurable impact.
